The Go Sweet sale: cheap sweets, still the good stuff
We send them all over the UK from our base in Birmingham, so a full sweet bowl is only a few clicks away.
The bargain bins are not second best. They are genuine sweets at a lower price. That might be because they are a little short of date, so we would rather they were enjoyed than left in the warehouse, because there is a newer line we want to make room for, or because they are simply real bargains. If you have a sweet tooth and half an eye on the bill, start here.
A sale at Go Sweet is really just a reduction across the whole range, from retro and classic favourites to popular chocolates and American imports. You get the same wide choice of treats, only with better bargains on whatever we are discounting this week. You are not giving up the full selection to grab a bargain.
What you will find in the sale
The line-up varies from week to week, but the sale usually draws from all parts of the shop. Here is the sort of thing that turns up, and where to look if you want the full range rather than just the reduced picks.
| In the sale | What it is | Browse the full range |
|---|---|---|
| Retro sweets | The old-school jars and bags you grew up on | Retro sweets |
| Fizzy and sour | Cola bottles, fizzy laces and the tongue-tinglers | Gummies and jellies |
| Big-name gummies | Haribo and the other soft chewy classics | Haribo |
| Chocolate | Bars, bags and boxes for the chocolate lot | Chocolate |
| American candy | The imports you cannot get in the corner shop | American sweets |
| Tubs, bulk and 1kg bags | Big tubs and bags for parties, offices and serious snackers | 1kg sweets |
The items on sale change constantly, which is why the grid above the description shows exactly what is reduced right now, with the live price on each one. So if you have spotted something you like, grab it while it is here, because sale stock does not stay long.
Why are these sweets so cheap?
A sweet lands in the sale for one of a few simple reasons. Some are getting close to their best-before date. They are still perfectly good to eat, but it is the right moment to drop the price and sell them quickly. Some we are simply clearing to make room for new lines. And some are just reduced, a favourite of yours at a low price as a thank-you for shopping with us. Whatever the reason, it is a real deal at a real saving, not a fake.
How to get the best sweet deals
A little timing here goes a long way. The sale is where the bargains sit, and getting into the habit of looking there first will save you a fair bit over a year of buying sweets.
- Check the sale before you browse the full-price range, in case your favourite is already marked down.
- Check back often for the latest clearance and short-dated deals.
- Buy the bulk bags, tubs of sweets and 1kg bargains when they land, since they are the biggest saving per sweet.
- Stock up just before big parties and long weekends, when you know plenty will get eaten.
Sweets for parties, gifts and bulk buys
The sale is a smart way to shop when you need a lot and would rather not go over budget. A few ways people use it:
- Party bags and pick and mix bowls, where the maths adds up fast and every discount helps.
- Film nights, office drawers and family cupboards that go through sweets quicker than you would think.
- Small presents and stocking fillers, done for less so you can do more of them.
- Bulk buys for anyone stocking up, from a birthday party to a market stall.
If you are building a spread, pair a sale find with a pick and mix selection and you have covered the whole table without spending much.
Vegan, veggie and other dietary needs
The sweets in the sale come from different brands, so not everything suits every diet. Plenty are vegan or vegetarian friendly, but some contain gelatine, so it is always worth a look at the pack. If you shop to a strict diet, the easiest place to begin is the vegan sweets collection, and every product page lists its ingredients and allergens, so you can shop with confidence.
Sweets sale FAQ
What sweets are included in the sale?
These sale items are drawn from across the shop, so you will find retro sweets, fizzy and sour picks, big-name gummies like Haribo, chocolate, American sweets and bulk bags. The line-up varies from day to day depending on what is reduced, so the products shown here are whatever is on offer right now.
Why are the sweets in the sale so cheap?
It is not a fake, it is the real thing at a lower price. Usually they are short-dated, perfectly good to eat but closer to the best-before date, or we are making room for something new, or we have simply reduced a favourite.
How often does the sale change?
Often. As soon as older offers sell out, new ones go up, so it is worth keeping an eye on it. If something you like is in the sale, it is best to grab it while it is there.
Are sale sweets good for parties and gifts?
Yes. The sale is one of the best places to look for party bags, gifts and stocking fillers, because you get the same sweets at a lower price. Pair a sale find with a pick and mix selection and you can fill a whole table for very little.
Are the cheap sweets suitable for vegans or vegetarians?
Many sweets are vegan or vegetarian friendly, but some contain gelatine. The pack and the product page will tell you which is which. For gelatine-free options, start with the vegan sweets collection.
Do you deliver sale sweets across the UK?
We do. Everything in the sale ships from our Birmingham base to anywhere in the UK, the same as the rest of the shop.
