About ELiT
ELiT (ELiT-P EOOD) was founded in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in 2003 and has been part of the Penelopa Group holding since 2012. The company runs four of its own factories and exports to more than 45 countries, with nuts, seeds, nut bars and snacks across its range. The coated peanuts sit alongside that core nut business, which is why the peanut itself, not just the coating, is the focus: a roasted centre under a crunchy seasoned shell.
What goes with them
These are savoury grazing snacks rather than sweets, so they pair naturally with our other savoury lines. Try them alongside meat snacks like jerky and pork scratchings on a sharing board, or with crisps for a film night. You will find more savoury options in other snacks.
Allergens and dietary information
All seven flavours contain peanuts. Beyond that, the seasoned coatings differ by flavour and can contain wheat (gluten), milk and soya, with the creamy and cheese-style flavours such as Sour Cream & Onion the most likely to contain milk. For that reason most flavours are not suitable for a vegan diet, and none are halal certified. Always check the ingredients and allergen panel on the back of the pack you receive before buying, as recipes can change by batch and country.
Frequently asked questions
What are Elit coated peanuts?
Elit coated peanuts are roasted peanuts wrapped in a crunchy, seasoned shell, made by the Bulgarian nut brand ELiT. They come in seven savoury flavours in 70g packs and are a snack rather than a sweet.
What flavours do Elit coated peanuts come in?
We stock seven 70g flavours: Sour Cream & Onion, Paprika, BBQ, Tex-Mex, Chilli, Wasabi and Fire Mix.
Which Elit coated peanut is the hottest?
Fire Mix is the hottest in the range, followed by Wasabi and Chilli. The mildest is Sour Cream & Onion, which has no chilli heat at all.
What is the difference between the Chilli and Wasabi flavours?
Chilli gives a building, mouth-centred chilli heat. Wasabi gives a sharper, sinus-clearing hit and has a distinctive green coating. Both are hot, but the sensation is different.
Are Elit coated peanuts halal?
No. Elit coated peanuts are not halal certified. For certified options, see our halal range, and always check the pack.
Are Elit coated peanuts vegan or vegetarian?
The coatings vary by flavour and several can contain milk, so most flavours are not vegan. Some may be suitable for vegetarians, but you should confirm on the pack you receive before buying.
What size are the packs?
Every flavour comes in a 70g pack, which works as a single serving or a small sharing bag.
