Who High5 is for
Endurance athletes: cyclists, marathoners, triathletes and ultra-distance athletes are the brand's core audience. The ZERO and Energy Gel range covers in-event hydration and fuelling.
Cyclists in particular: the brand has historical roots in UK cycling and remains heavily used in cycling communities. The Energy Gel format fits jersey pocket carriage.
Informed Sport-certified buyers: for athletes in tested sports (Olympics, World Athletics, cycling federations), the Informed Sport certification means each batch is verified free from banned substances. Pair with our Grenade Carb Killa which carries the same certification.
Hydration shoppers wanting zero calories: the ZERO tablets contain no calories and no sugar, making them suitable for low-carb or calorie-controlled diets while still delivering electrolytes. Pair with our Good To Go range for variety.

High5: frequently asked questions
What's the difference between High5 ZERO and Energy Drink?
High5 ZERO contains electrolytes without carbohydrates, useful for hydration during low-intensity exercise, daily hydration or when you want to avoid extra calories. High5 Energy Drink contains both electrolytes and carbohydrates (maltodextrin and fructose), providing both hydration and energy fuel for longer or more intense exercise sessions (typically 90+ minutes). Use ZERO for shorter or lower-intensity sessions; use Energy Drink for endurance sessions where carb fuelling matters.
Is High5 Informed Sport certified?
Most High5 products are Informed Sport certified, meaning each batch is independently tested for the banned substances on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) list. This makes the range safe for competitive athletes subject to drug testing. Check the specific product packaging for the Informed Sport mark; not every variant in the range carries the certification at all times.
How do I use High5 Energy Gels?
Energy Gels are designed for use during endurance exercise, typically every 30-45 minutes during sessions over 90 minutes long. Each 40g sachet delivers around 23g of carbohydrate (around 90 kcal). Drink water alongside the gel for best absorption. The caffeine variant should be used selectively (around 1-2 caffeine gels per session at most) to avoid over-caffeination during long events.
Is High5 ZERO vegan?
Yes. High5 ZERO electrolyte tablets are vegan-suitable, with no animal-derived ingredients. The Energy Gels are also vegan. The High5 Recovery Drink contains milk-derived protein so is NOT vegan, however. For fully vegan recovery alternatives, consider our Huel range which is fully plant-based.
